Our Approach and Strategy

SSCT-Nepal works with the principles of sincerity, benevolence, transparency, sustainability, consensus building and cost-effective delivery of services to the required communities and individuals. Within this overall framework, its working approach and strategy include:

• Promote high values and principles in all initiatives,

• Extend social security packages and services to disables, helpless, abandoned women and senior citizens,

• Adopt pro-poor approach and ensure their meaningful participation in their own development process,

• Enhance of the confidence and self-esteem of target beneficiaries/groups for sustainable economic growth through inclusion, institutional capacity building, technology transfer, linkage and advocacy,

• Involve in studies, research, advocacy and networking on issues that are instrumental for the economic growth and social security, which more directly benefit the haves not pole,

• Ensure optimum utilization of resources (human and capital) for cost effective services,

• Link the beneficiaries with other service providers of local, national and international level,

• Promote interaction, understanding and cooperation among people of different faiths, races, geography and occupations,

• Promote self-sustaining initiatives for communities and SSCT.

SSCT closely works for two types of communities:

A) Who are helpless and need urgent protection for their lives and livelihood. Disables, orphans or street children, helpless or neglected women, abandoned senior citizens, HIV positive, drug-addicted youths and penniless diseased people fall into this category.

B) Who are physically capable to struggle but are still below poverty line and deserve support for their livelihood and decent way of living. Landless, poor producers, food insecure households, marginalized dalit or ethnic communities, uneducated or unskilled youths, excluded individuals or communities particularly living with limited options in remote areas fall in this category.
The Trust has separate modalities to work for the two groups.
